For over 150 years, American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (AJOG) has published research that has changed the practice of medicine and improved the lives of women and their children. AJOG, often referred to as "The Gray Journal," is a leading peer-reviewed medical journal in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Established in 1920, it is published monthly by Elsevier under the Mosby Inc. imprint. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including clinical and translational research, reviews, opinions, video clips, podcasts, and interviews, with a focus on advancing the understanding and practice of women's health care

AJOG aims to publish high-impact research that influences the diagnosis, treatment, prediction, and prevention of obstetrical and gynecological disorders. It also explores reproductive biology and the physiological mechanisms underlying these diseases. The journal is dedicated to improving clinical practice and patient outcomes through innovative research and evidence-based insights
AJOG has two companion titles:
Manuscripts with a focus on maternal-fetal medicine or high-risk pregnancy can be submitted to AJOG MFM,
Manuscripts with a focus on regional reports and cross-border healthcare delivery can be submitted to the open access AJOG Global
